LA’s Grand Canyon’s music pierces through the confusion of today’s world while holding true to the influences that have created some of the most iconic songs of all time. Fronted by singer/songwriter/guitarist Casey Shea and vocalist Amy Wilcox, the six-piece ensemble seamlessly draws from such classic influences as Pink Floyd, Buffalo Springfield, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Fleetwood Mac to create a modern take on classic rock.
It’s just good. Dang good. It’s what a slow trip down the bayou would imagine like, on a slow summer’s day. It’s you dripping with sweat from the dangling sun overhead, a big ol’ smile of confidence and consequence, while slowly meandering the beautiful glades of nature.

The New York City-based Americana duo Joanie and Matt will be releasing an album called Sterling on July 19. The duo first worked together about ten years ago and they wrote a bluegrass album for kids. Over the past decade, both talented singer-songwriters have been working on independent projects and have been highly successful.
“Matt was actually in India living there and I was going through some life changes and I reached out to him about starting a project together and kind of co-writing again,” Joanie recalls. She ended up moving after Matt returned from India and they were only about ten blocks from each other. “We realized from our first meet that the songs were so easy to write and it was a good pairing,” she said.
“I would bring a melody and Joanie would add the lyrics or vice versa,” Matt added. “It was very complimentary and reciprocal.”
The new album has seven tracks, all of which relate to stories in the Bible. “We basically went through the Old Testament and picked out some really interesting and controversial stories,” Joanie said, adding that the duo focused on some stories that may not really have the national attention and may have some backstory behind the story itself. “We really dug into the text. We just went line by line and thought about what the story was about.”
Sophistication is a hallmark of JOSH RENNIE-HYNES’ single ‘Chapter’. The indie folk/rock extravaganza is chock full of tight progressions, emulsive emotions, lyrical poetry, and beautifully expressive vocal attentions by Josh.
Norwegian experimental pop artist Hanne Hukkelberg, will release her new full-length Birthmark, on August 16th via Hukkelberg Music. Ahead of the album’s release, Hukkelberg has shared a taste of the album, with the melodic and sweet-sounding “Faith.”
Americana artist King Corduroy will release his new EP Avalon Ave. on August 16th; to preview the drop, he’s released the single “Workin’ for a Livin”, along with its music video. A little rootsy and swampy, “Workin’ for a Livin” mixes a little Texas blues and Southern rock with sounds from the Mississippi Delta and New Orleans’ French Quarter.
