Cracker‘s “Low” is an early 90s classic, mixing folk, angst and rock in one solid mixture. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere americana/indie-folk artist Sara Rachele‘s cover of the track. By slowing the song down, the verses almost sound like Bob Dylan‘s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and the crescendoing choruses have a Mazzy Star feel with Rachele’s reverbed vocals. Yavuz’ musical career began through interesting circumstances. Peter Haskell, an LA-based musician and actor, and Yavuz’ estranged father—had just been shot and killed. Shortly after, Haskell’s music equipment was unexpectedly delivered to Yavuz’ apartment, which prompted him to begin making music.
