The All Scene Eye debuts Margaret Chavez’ new single, “H O R A,” calling it “an eight-minute atmospheric odyssey built on heavy guitar effects, gorgeous vocal harmonies, and drum beats orbiting in parallel.”

Texas singer/songwriter Marcus William Striplin named his cosmic folk rock project Margaret Chavez in honor of his mother, who nurtured his interest in music from an early age–in spite of his abusive father and the hardships of her own life. Striplin tells one harrowing chapter of her story in “Honeysuckles,” a track from the upcoming album Into An Atmosphere that shows her continued influence on his artistic spirit. But on his latest single, “H O R A,” he takes a broader look at time and space in the project’s most progressive outing to date.

Gypsy Outfit Included In Rock Era Magazine’s Weekly Playlist

gypsy outfit rock era magazine country western americana folk musician's story

Rock Era Magazine has added “Musician’s Story” –the newest single off Gypsy Outfit’s upcoming album 1969– to their weekly playlist.

“Musician’s Story”—a standout track from the band’s forthcoming debut album 1969—spins the tale of a vagabond kid raising himself as he travels the country alone searching for his place in the world. Anchored by shimmering Hammond B3 and some achingly beautiful slide-guitar work, it’s a modern roots-rock classic.
