Metal Injection premieres Goliathan’s new music video for “Albion”

goliathan metal doom instrumental nature albion awakens post rock stoner sludge rock queen reviews music publicity PR baby robot media ashley joncas

Goliathan‘s music is plenty devastating on its own. Though when coupled with bleak and macabre imagery, Goliathan only seems to get more destructive. The band is now streaming their track “Albion” alongside a music video directed by both Ashley Joncas (Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson) and the band themselves.

“There’s a narrative to Albion where this mythical beast comes to correct something humans have done,” said guitarist Kevin Cogill. “We don’t define exactly what, just that we were taking things too far like we always do. Who knows? Maybe there are civilizations that existed that we don’t really know about because they were wiped from the face of the Earth without a trace. We don’t want to over-tell the story. It’s more like scenes from history—past and future.” READ MORE…

RAD/ATL interview Young Antiques to talk about their new album, Another Risk Of The Heart

young antiques rad atl rock americana atlanta another risk of the heart interview power pop southern

Young Antiques are at it again. Longtime friends and songwriting cohorts Blake Rainey and Blake Parris have convened with drummer John Speaks to craft Another Risk Of The Heart (Southern Lovers Recording Company), a new eight-song LP that’s teeming with phantasmal Southern power pop and rock ‘n’ roll storytelling.

Another Risk Of The Heart is the Atlanta trio’s first offering in nearly a decade, and it’s what Rainey calls “a love letter to the band.” Songs with titles such as “Euclid Creeper,” “Armies In The Alley,” and “’92” reaffirm the power and allure of the group’s hook-laden legacy. Guest appearances from Atlanta-rooted voices such as Kelly Hogan, Chris Lopez of the Rock*A*Teens, and Tom Cheshire, expand the group’s repertoire, while keeping each song planted firmly in the Atlanta music mythos. Rainey took a few minutes to talk more about the album.

Nashville’s Lake and Lyndale share new live video at Glide Magazine

The music business is no place for the meek of heart or timid of spirit. A move from Minnesota to Nashville and a personnel overhaul might have collapsed lesser bands. But Lake and Lyndale didn’t just survive those traumas. With songwriting always at its core, Lake & Lyndale is an exciting blend of Americana, rock, country and blues influences. The band, comprised of singer Channing Marie, bassist Eric Clifford, guitarist Jonathan Krentz, and drummer Tyler Kloewer, first met at music school in St. Paul, Minnesota. Their wide range of influences and versatility helps breed both a familiar, yet unique sound. From intimate acoustic settings to some of the largest festivals, the band splits their time between touring, staff writing and recording.
