Immersive Atlanta features The Head’s new video for “Raincoats”

The Head atlanta Mike and Jack Shaw brothers Jacob Morrell millipedes it ain't easy

Simple music videos never go out of style, especially when matched with jaunty pop rock like the Head’s “Raincoats.” The new video, filmed and directed by Rebecca Arrowsmith, is the second released in support of the band’s 2015 EP Millipedes, and features the trio wandering around various locales in downtown and East Atlanta.

Since the release of their EP and their recent tour of the East Coast, the Head have continued to receive positive press, including recently being named one of Pure Volume’s top 10 unsigned artists of 2015. If 2015 is any gauge of the future, the Head should prepare for national recognition, and the video for “Raincoats” demonstrates that lead singer Mike Shaw is already comfortable playing the role of rock and roll frontman. The modelesque footage of him in the bathtub seems taken from the rock-god era ’70s, and the casual outro displays the Head at their most nonchalant — unaware or at least unimpressed by their own popularity. 2DopeBoyz calls KONCEPT & J57’s The Fuel “a top contender for EP of the year”

Koncept and J57 the fuel Soulspazm Fat Beats Records Brown Bag Allstars

Brown Bag AllStars’ Koncept and J57 dropped an incredibly undervalued sleeper of an EP last month which has personally become a top contender for EP of the year. And truly, this is all bias aside, despite J being a great friend.

When you make excellent, original music, it just simply cannot be denied. The day before the two BBAS members delivered their The Fuel EP, they dropped off this Andrew Thomas single, “Excitement.”

As a Christmas gift for fans, Kon & J dispatched some self-shot visuals using a GoPro for the celebratory song, with some exceptional editing by Jawney Qvest. Watch it up top and go out and support the two by purchasing The Fuel on iTunes. WATCH HERE…

Sara Rachele’s hushed new acoustic track “Still On My Mind,” debuting today at The Bluegrass Situation

Artist: Sara Rachele
Hometown: Atlanta/New York
Song: “Still on My Mind”
Album: B-side to “Merry Christmas, Baby”
Release Date: December 28
Label: Angrygal Records

In Their Words: “‘Still on my Mind’ is a song that wrote itself, really. It was one of those sit down, true story moments where I’m alone, talking to someone who isn’t there. I’ve been lucky in that a lot of my personal relationships are lifers, so to speak, the kind that stay with me — an engrave-on-your-headstone kind of thing. But I genuinely look to those people, the ones who leave us, as a mental memorial of sorts. The points of the day when I’m at rest, at peace, I still carry those people, those memories, like they’re a part of each breath of the second I’m in.” — Sara Rachele

The FADER premieres new KONCEPT & J57 video for “Excitement,” off their new EP, The Fuel

Koncept and J57 the fuel Soulspazm Fat Beats Records Brown Bag Allstars

A little over a month ago, rappers Koncept and J57 released The Fuel, the first major effort off their collaboration. The duo have now dropped a video for “Excitement,” a track off their EP, which features vocals from Andrew Thomas Reid.

Koncept, a Queens-born emcee and rapper, first met J57, a Long Island-born native producer and rapper, in 2008. The two both worked at Fat Beats, a record store in the West Village known for jumpstarting the careers of many underground rappers. Along with some coworkers, they formed rap group Brown Bag AllStars, who hit their peak when they opened for Ghostface Killah at an Atlanta music festival.

Wanting to reach a larger audience, they eventually decided to make The Fuel together. They are now working on their first full length album, Flight, which will drop sometime in 2016.

“I grew up on hip-hop, but I’m also inspired by Radiohead and The Mars Volta—good, meaningful, powerful and emotional music that just gives you a feeling,” Koncept told the FADER. “It’s what I’ve always searched for in my sound, and what I’ve finally found in these new joints with J57.” WATCH HERE…
