Bridge 19 Shares New Song “The Truth” With Glide Magazine

Like a fine Kentucky bourbon, the Louisville band Bridge 19 has come of age with its new album In the Afterglow (out 4/26). Mature and bold but sweet and satisfying, Bridge 19 offers it most revealing and meaningful songs to date.

Through lush, polished vocal harmonies, frontwomen Audrey Cecil and Amanda Lucas sing about serious, timely topics while ensuring that their songs remain charming and fun. Using moody electric guitars, horns, accordion, pedal steel, and drums, Bridge 19 presents riffs that bend and blend genres. Touches of Americana, lively pop, vintage Nashville, Motown, singer-songwriter, and even disco float from song to song. You’ll want to dance and sing along.

Rolling Stone Features Kyle Daniel’s Live Video for “God Bless America (Damn Rock n Roll)”

On his new EP What’s There to Say?, Kyle Daniel blends country with Southern rock, enlivening a genre hybrid that can often feel overcooked with his vulnerable yet vital songs about heartbreaks (the title track) and the opioid epidemic (“Born to Lose”). But he also makes time to cut loose and play loud, like in the rousing “God Bless America (Damn Rock n Roll).”

Folk Radio Premieres D.L. Rossi’s Single “Be Your Man”

His new album A Sweet Thing is a cathartic emission of everything he thought he knew about life, himself and what it meant to process such overwhelming heartache. The heaviness in his heart spills out onto the record in spades, but is never overwrought or too grim. Rather, it’s as much an emotional release for the listener as it is for Rossi.

“Be Your Man” is a laid-back folk ballad carried by layers of piano and electric guitars awash in reverb. It details a failed romance in which both partners are unable to let go, still texting and communicating on regular basis while both knowing full well that there’s no hope for a long-term romance.

B-Side and Badlands Reviews David Quinn’s “Gap Tooth Girl”

David Quinn, Indiana Copyright 2018

An homage to the 1987 short documentary, Gap-Toothed Women, directed by Les Blank and Maureen Gosling, Americana musician and singer David Quinn‘s new song is a whimsical, saloon-approved piano romper dedicated to, you guessed it, his own “Gap Tooth Girl.” He whips her across the dusty bar-room dance floor, the ivories pouring out as a summertime cloudburst, and with a flourish, the listener gets lost in the magic, too. “Love me slow / Never let me go / She’s the wildest woman I’m ever going to know / Dancing ’round the room till the morning time / Always on the move like Bonnie and Clyde,” sings Quinn, his voice dancing between the shadows of the low-hanging bar lights. It’s as ripe for front-porch pickin’ as it is for the hoedown at the local watering hole. Get to boot scootin’, yeehaw!

Country Music Views Shares Review of Nicholas Mudd’s Self Tilted Album

Mudd has somehow captured something that is very difficult to record. The Nicholas Mudd Band has a sound that you might expect to hear sitting around a campfire. These songs sound authentic and personal, almost like he’s talking directly to me. When an artist can make a listener feel that way through a CD, they have something special. One reason Mudd is able to do that is the fact that he wrote all these songs. It’s much easier to be authentic when you are telling someone about your personal experiences.

Brad Byrd Shares New Single “Sunset Girl” With Americana UK

This track premiere features a song that is taken from Brad Byrd’s fourth album ‘Phases’ which will be out on May 3rd.  It’s an album of contrast with an amplified rock song one minute and a stripped-down folk ballad the next.  ‘Sunset Girl‘ falls into the last category, it is an acoustic love song – failed love in this case – for which Brad Byrd drew on memories of his early adulthood in New York City, for an ethereal ballad about lost love in the big city.
