ELPENTHE aka Elliott Beenk gives quote on mastering for vinyl to Lifewire

“Mastering for vinyl, digital, and CDs is a markedly different process. If you upload a bad master going to a digital service provider (DSP) like Spotify, the worst that will happen is the song sounding bad and your friends making fun of your bad taste in music,” music producer Elliott Beenk told Lifewire via email. “If you have a bad master pressed to vinyl, if the bass is too loud, or the grooves too deep, the needle can literally jump off the record and lead to a faulty batch of records.” READ MORE…

Americana UK reviews the new album from Matthew Check, Without a Throne, noting, “There’s a definite feel of Jackson Brown and Warren Zevon… lively and energetic … classy pedal steel playing.”

Now sober, the second song – ‘Old Wooden Floor’ – looks at the harsh reality of drinking, but again this is an upbeat song with some classy pedal steel playing. Check’s bluegrass background surfaces on ‘Pretty Mama’ and he stays close to home on ‘The Way That You Are’, which was written by his brother Jonathan and is a lovely tale of unrequited love – again enhanced by some superb ivory tinkling. Jonathan’s a talented sibling as another of his songs is included – ‘The Shape It Appears’ – a country waltz about being able to see an era clearly only after it’s over – amazingly its author was only a teenager when he penned it.

Glide Magazine debuts new song & video from Ghost Pavilion, “Still on Ice,” calling it “encapsulating dream pop… drifts with a masterful urgency.”

From the opening cascading cords of the latest Ghost Pavillion track “Still On Ice,” one would almost do a double take that they might be hearing a new Beach House track. Yet instead of the noted dream pop Baltimore duo, we get the west coast version, spearheaded by James Higgs.

Glide is premiering “Still On Ice,” the encapsulating new track that drifts with a masterful urgency that is both sweet and seductive atop a stark and fragile presentation.
