The Ripple Effect premieres early version of Goliathan’s “In the Path of the Giant, Technology Is Laid to Waste”

goliathan In the Path of the Giant, Technology Is Laid to Waste the ripple effect doom metal stoner metal baby robot media music publicity pr

Goliathan seamlessly blends crushing instrumental doom metal and dreamy post-rock, and they just unearthed some raw, primal, early recordings that date all the way back to 2006, documenting the band’s first and most primitive incarnation. The epic, three-song, 37-minute set—Artifact—has just been remixed by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Red Sparowes, Helmet) and mastered by Gene Grimaldi (Failure, Fantômas). It will be released Oct. 30, digitally and also on limited-edition 10″ vinyl.

Through their alternately punishing and ethereal instrumentals, Goliathan tells stories as vast as geologic time itself. Tales of epic beginnings and inevitable ends, of the epochal crawl of continents, apocalyptic future landscapes and, perhaps most impactfully, of nature finally—and violently—reclaiming its rightful dominion over man.

The Bluegrass Situation debuts the all NEW title track from David Quinn, “Letting Go”

Artist: David Quinn
Hometown: Woodridge, Illinois
Song: “Letting Go”
Album: Letting Go
Release Date: October 23, 2020

In Their Words: “The song ‘Letting Go’ is what really got the whole record going for me. It put everything in perspective about what I was trying to say with the album. It all started with that opening line, ‘I’m letting go of everything that’s holding me down.’ I was dealing with a bunch of things at the moment, and I just needed to let it all go. I had a headache for about six months straight, and I reference that in the song: ‘My head, it hurts/Lord you know I’m spinnin’ around.’

Americana UK premieres James Houlahan’s latest release Tomorrow’s Had Enough Of Me

James Houlahan

Some songs – they get to you from the first listen.  Sometimes its a hard rocking punch that lifts and energises and informs and sometimes its the capture of an emotion so familiar it is as if someone has been rooting around in your soul.  ‘Tomorrow’s had Enough of Me‘, as you might guess from the title, is one of the latter.  James Houlahan inhabits an empty weariness that’s shot through with regrets over wasted times, wasted efforts and the endless exhaustion of not quite achieving.  He sings “endless hours on the road, where I’m busy being free” and it is exactly how it feels to have gone one drink further than you planned to. A song doesn’t get to be so perfect by accident, and you’ll quickly note the presence of the unmistakable Scarlet Rivera who’s violin gives some additional ache to the song.  Other notable names are drummer Danny Frankel.  ‘Tomorrow’s had Enough of Me‘ comes from the new album ‘Ordinary Eye‘ which was produced by Fernando Perdomo – who has previously worked with the younger Dylan.  READ MORE…

Growing up in small town Michigan, Michelle Billingsley packed her bags and headed to Los Angeles to seek fame and fortune as an actress.  Her life story mirrors that of hordes of young wannabees, following their dreams, only to quit Los Angeles, bruised and broken by rejection and failed romances.

Rather than allowing the sordid experiences to break her spirit, Billingsley dusted herself down, took stock and planned her next move. Moving to Chicago, where she presently resides, she revisited that period of her life and her younger years, to construct the ten songs that surface on NOT THE MARRYING KIND. The tales within the songs aim for the jugular and more often than not, score a direct hit. They are at times perturbing, seldom polite, more often than not irreverent and frequently amusing.
